PRUNINGER E-Learning
Virtual training of fig pruning, fig pruning is a skill from the agricultural group that deals with pruning, shaping and fruiting of fig trees. And is associated with occupations such as sellers of agricultural tools and equipment, fig gardeners and producers of fig seedlings.
Summary of this course:
Pruning is done in cold areas from March to February.
Types of fig tree pruning:
- Pruning form (formation of a tree in the shape of a plant):
In this method, the tree does not have a main trunk and if it does, it is very short and finally 20 to 30 cm high. In this case, the main branches are also formed in the form of stumps. - Form pruning (forming a tree in a tall shape):
In this method, the main branches and fruit on the tree are located at a distance of 1 to 1.5 meters from the soil surface. In the first years of planting, seedlings are pruned at a distance of 50 cm from the soil surface. The remaining parts of the main trunk of the seedling next year will produce sub-branches. In the second year, all branches are pruned except the last branch at the top of the two-year-old trunk. This branch (meaning the last remaining branch) is cut to a length of 50 to 65 cm from the connection to the trunk of the fig tree. - Pruning:
This type of pruning is done in late winter and sometimes in summer.
Complete removal of dead and unused branches, stumps, cuttings or branches that block sunlight to other parts of the tree.
