Foundation Design E-Learning

Virtual design training in the foundation design training course covers key aspects of this topic, including the principles of testing, interpretation, analysis, modeling of soil-structure interaction, construction instructions and rational design applications.

In order to keep this course up to date, the educational resource is provided in the form of the main language. Therefore, familiarity with English is recommended to participate in this course.

Summary of this course:

Pi: refers to the set of parts of the structure and the soil in contact with it, through which the load is transferred between the structure and the ground. Foundations are mainly divided into three groups:

A- Surface foundations:
These are foundations that are built at a shallow depth and close to the ground. These foundations include single, strip, network and wide foundations. Surface foundations may be made of stone, concrete or reinforced concrete.

B- Deep foundations or piles:
Foundations are said to have a ratio of depth to the smallest horizontal dimension of more than 10. These foundations include a variety of piles, masonry and partition walls. Deep foundations in buildings are usually carried to the ground by an intermediate structure, called a cap or pile head.

C- Semi-deep feet:
They are called foundations that are located between surface foundations and deep foundations. Box foundations are usually in this group. And they can be designed for safety like surface foundations.

Virtual design course topics:

  • Definitions
  • Design methods
  • Geotechnical identification of the earth
  • Drilling soil and sampling

Prerequisites for Pi Design Course:
This course does not require any special prerequisites and is taught from the ground up.
