Virtual maternal and child health education is designed to familiarize people with maternal health and influencing factors. The most important health index in any country is the mortality rate of pregnant women, which with the development of societies and the access of the majority of people to health services, fortunately, the rate of this index is decreasing. The term maternal and child health refers to promotional, preventive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative health care for mothers and children. These care include other sub-areas such as prenatal health, child health, family planning, school health, children with disabilities and adolescent health, and the health aspects of child care in groups such as kindergarten.
The problems of mothers and children include the following three main parts:
Malnutrition: Pregnant women, lactating women, and children are particularly vulnerable to the effects of malnutrition. One of the main problems of mothers in third world countries is that the mother starts pregnancy with very low weight and also the mother gains very little weight during pregnancy.
Infections: Infection of mothers with infections during pregnancy may cause various side effects in the fetus, such as fetal diseases, abortion, etc. The child may also become ill due to debilitating infectious diarrhea, respiratory and skin infections. Repeated infections may cause protein-energy malnutrition (PEM) and iron deficiency anemia in children.
Unplanned fertility: More than four children, less than three years apart, pregnancies over 35, and pregnancies under 18 are major problems in Third World countries.
