The classification of goods can be divided into three categories from the point of view of their area of operation:
International Commodity Classifications:
These categories are usually created and developed by an international body (the United Nations). Such as CPC classification, ISIC classification, UNSPSC classification and SITC classification, which is described in full below.
National Commodity Classifications:
Governments are responsible for these categories. Such as Iran Code Classification, Classification (JSCC Japan), Classification (ICNEA
China) Classification (NAF France) (WZ Classification) and Classification (Germany eClass).
Organizational product categories:
Each national or international organization can create and develop a product classification, depending on its needs. Such as HS classification (Customs Organization), GPC classification (GS1 organization), FSC classification (NATO organization) and MESC classification (Shell company).
Also, goods and services are divided into two categories of consumer goods and industrial goods based on the type of consumers. The product, in the broadest sense of the word, includes other marketable items such as experiences, organizations, individuals, and opinions.
