DC Motors E-Learning

Virtual training of DC motors is made to get acquainted with the concepts and rules of DC motors and how to use them. A DC motor is a device that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy with the help of a magnet. It is called DC because it uses 24V DC. One of the disadvantages of DC motors is that they require more maintenance because their commutators may wear out over time.

DC motor application:
The DC motor is used in various places, for example in toys such as control cars or boats. In today’s industrial sector, DC motors are ubiquitous. From robotics to automotive and other propulsion projects, the Disi engine is used because of its wide range of functions.

Main components of DC motor:

  • Stator: The stator is the fixed part of the motor. As current flows through the stator winding, a magnetic field is generated in a fixed direction. This field converts electrical energy into mechanical energy in contrast to the rotor output field. The stator has two main parts, the core and the coil. The core is responsible for concentrating the flux and preventing the loss of the magnetic field, and the coil is connected to the power supply and generates the magnetic field.
  • Rotor: The rotor is the rotating part of a DC motor. The rotor generates a magnetic field in a specific direction relative to the stator and generates a rotational force that causes the rotor or armature to rotate. The rotor is responsible for creating the field and converting electrical energy into mechanical and rotating. The rotor itself consists of three main parts: the coil, the commutator and the core.
