Technician Of Insect Biocontrol Agents-Insectarium

Virtual Insectarium Biological Pesticide Training has been created for people to become fully acquainted with Insectarium biological pesticides. The biological pesticide technician of Insectarium is in the field of agriculture and has performed tasks such as planning the production process in accordance with the desired biocontrol agent, applying the necessary changes in the production process, maintaining the biocontrol agent and product formulation. This competency is related to people working in all institutions active in various fields of biological pesticides.

Biological pesticides:
The most successful commercially available biological pesticides are: Bacillus thuringiensis is the most widely used biological insecticide, Bt is a gram-positive aerobic bacterium, commonly found in nature.

This bacterium produces toxic proteins during crystal deposition. Different toxins are produced by different breeds of Bacillus. The most important toxin is called delta-endotoxin.

Commercial formulations on offer contain spar crystals, which must be ingested by insects. The insect’s digestive system becomes paralyzed after eating Bt, but the insect dies after a few days.

kurstaki strain is the most widely used and is effective on the wings of scorpions in various crops. Other products have been introduced to control the two wings and the hardcover. In Iran, 90% of its powder and tablet (back spine-diple) is recommended against elm leaf eaters and awkward silk weavers. Consumption per hectare of Bt is less than chemical insecticides.

Experiments have shown that rice of Tarom Molaei variety contains Bt gene is resistant to rice stem borer in vegetative and reproductive stages and the damage in transgenic plants was less than the control.
